The Agua Bendita swimwear brand started as a dream of two Colombian women, Catalina Alvarez and Mariana Hinestroza, who were passionate about design. They decided to create unique swimwear pieces through which they could communicate a story with a combination of hand-made details and contemporary design.

The owners’ entrepreneur spirit and risk-taking mentality pushed them to create a ground breaking brand that is always reinventing itself and looking for ways to redesign and express its essence in a way that appeals to the global woman. The strong pursuit of their vision has lead this brand to continuous growth, to the point where they’ve had top models like Bar Refaeli, Irina Shayk, Izabel Goulart, Candice Swanepoel, Sara Sampaio and Kendall Jenner as faces of the brand. All of this has contributed to Agua Bendita’s global positioning.

 

Agua Bendita’s swimwear pieces are the result of its passionate creators and the uniqueness and hard work of hundreds of women who are heads of household, who are behind every piece.

 

Agua Bendita Hearts
It seems cliché, but there’s a story behind every Agua Bendita swimsuit. Each bikini is evidence of the stories of hundreds of low income women who are head of their household, who use their hands and craftsman skills to create pieces that are a true sign of the wonders of Colombia and the talent of its people. These bikinis are the result of skills that have been passed from generation to generation to Colombian women.

 


These women are allowed to work from home, giving them the chance to raise their families while still having a source of income to sustain their homes. Their passion for detail helps create pieces that mix tradition and modern fashion.
The purpose behind AB Hearts is to reinforce the brand’s commitment with the women who are responsible for the creation of these pieces and as a way of giving back to the country of their creators: Colombia. The main goal is to improve the living standards of the women who are part of the company and to convey a message of strength and empowerment everywhere. The aim is to create a positive impact on society by giving women the tools to create a better life for themselves and their families.
