Have we mentioned that Agua Bendita Swimsuits are some of our absolute favorites in the world? We didn’t tell you recently? Well then let’s discuss. At first it was more about the swimwear for us, but then we were able to interview the designers and guess what, it made us LOVE Agua Bendita even more.

The creators of the company, Catalina Álvarez and Mariana Hinestroza, have been friends since the conception of the brand. Within the span of 7 years, Agua Bendita has gained notoriety amongst magazines and celebrities alike. The exclusivity of the designs and the quality of each piece has allowed the company to maintain consistent exposure in important magazines, runways, and retailers around the globe. Agua Bendita is a brand that will be changing the game and breaking barriers for many years to come.

During the last few years, Agua Bendita has been noted for giving an innovative and modern touch to its genuine Colombian garb. This innovations makes the pieces created more modern, progressive and eye-catching. The wild success of the company has been attributed to the combination of laser cutting detail design with high quality, imported products and materials, which have been the spear point of product development throughout the years.

But besides the hand-crafted details and eye-catching patterns, Agua Bendita Swimwear also specializes in perfect brazilian bikinis. This is why their swimsuits are always the perfect mix of style and sex appeal. The brazilian cut bikinis are revealing enough to add the element of allure, while still maintaining an air of mystery.

  • Do either of you have specifics to your personal creative process?

Yes, we do have our creative process. It is more a group thing… We are a good team! First we decide the structure of our next collection with all the team in Agua Bendita. Then we decide the themes we will use, themes that inspire us. We create some collages with every groups mood. And then Mari and I start sharing ideas and each one of us starts working  and developing our tasks. We create prints, we cut samples, we work on patterns, we buy fabrics, we choose models and campaigns. We are absolutely behind each and every style in our company.

 

  • You’re a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why?

We would be a mix of colors, like a rainbow. For us there will never be one color… each color has its charm and mixing them gives us thousands of possibilities… more than what we can imagine.

 

  • What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

Coming to meetings early in the morning and seeing that both of us are wearing almost the same. We kind of have the same taste in clothes.

 

  • If you could be a super hero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

Grant wishes so we can fulfill people’s dreams.

 

  • How do you stay on top of current swimwear trends?

We love traveling.  We are addicted to social networks and of course fashion websites. We love cutting ideas from magazines and we always paste them in our mood board.

 

  • What song best describes your creative process and why?

“Vivir La Vida” by Marc Anthony “lalalalala”. It’s inspiring and cheerful. I believe it reflects a lot the Latin thinking.

 

 

  • If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?

Steve Jobs for his creativity and all his influence in the world. Richard Branson for being so innovative and adventurous. He is the Entrepreneur! His imagination is just beyond limits.

 

  • We see a lot of animal print inspired pieces this collection. Can you share any back story to the decision making?

We love animals. We both wanted to be veterinarians. We love them and think that they describe the consumer of our brand pretty well.

 

  • What’s the one thing we would find an abundance of in your refrigerator?

Definitely, a nice dessert!
