At The Orchid Boutique, we cannot wait to debut the Betsey Johnson Swimwear 2010 collection. We are absolutely in love with the new bikinis, monokinis, and one pieces that have Betsey Johnson’s signature style embedded in their funky designs. A fabulous mix of 30s flapper chic and 50s-inspired pieces embody the 2010 swimsuit collection. Throw in there the chic cover up dresses that can really be worn for day or night (and at a MUCH lower price than regular Betsey dresses) and you have an amazing must-have line.
The first story is available now and is called Patty Cakes. We got VIP passes into their showroom at the Miami Swim Show and our tongues were wagging. Plaid is featured all over these sexy little numbers, and a monokini is even debuted in the new Betsey Johnson Swimwear line.
But our favorite by far is the Layer Cake group. Like Betsey does it best, the ruffles galore and girly charm are never far from the inspiration of the Layer Cake swimsuits. LOVE LOVE LOVE. The tankini match options are divine, with the new ruffle scoop bottom, the hipster, and the skirty. And the new bandeau top with the ruffle trim has a sort of movement of its own. Also, the matching fuchsia cover up dress that can be worn 6 ways (yes, six!) is stapled to become the new must-have.
October of this year brings the debut of the next story line, Cabaret. The flapper look is revived in the Betsey Johnson swimsuits, complete with touches of edgy chic. The velvety touch of the Cabaret bikinis give the solid black trend an oomph worth mentioning. Dimension and design are the forefront of the simple yet elegant swimsuits in this group.
