My years of experience in the online shopping world have taught me that I have a shopping problem: I WANT IT ALL. Has that ever happened to you? You go to your favorite website, and realize that you might as well put everything on your cart because you want, and NEED everything. But let’s face, it if I had 5k to spend on bikinis I would but most of us girls just want to maximize our purchases. This means using that top to its fullest potential. I used to purchase my swimwear just as it was shown on the website until I finally discovered a little thing known as: mixing and matching!

What this meant to my wardrobe and my social media life is that I could make a smart purchases that could be combined to form multiple looks which in turn meant: more selfies! If you’re new to whole mix and match theme, I’ll show you how to create different styles with just a few pieces that might seem ordinary:

Look 1: Rock ‘N Roll Glam
When I am looking for an edgier look I know black is my bff. Mixing different textures and fabrics helps create a more modern, rebellious bikini style. I’ve been wearing the same pieces for so long that I feel like I need to spice it up a little, so I put together some pieces that have a rock n’ roll vibe to them. I love to defy the status quo from time to time, combine textures and styles to create your own edge. I decided to go for a snake, leather-like top and bottom, mixing the top with a solid black bottom adds a sexy vibe and brings out the unique texture of this fabric. Pairing the bottom with a softer, suede-like top is a way to tone down the sexiness in the leather-like bottom. Add a stylish cover up to compliment your look.

Look 2: Spring Break Trend-The Caged Look
Spring Break calls for trying new trends and I’m loving the whole caged look idea. A girl has to show some skin from time to time and if you’ve got it you might as well flaunt it. It’s a strap party and you are invited! Beware of the weird tan lines, fortunately they will disappear with time but rest assured your awesome bikini will remain in your friend’s memories. This L*space strap top brings the caged look to a new level by creating crossed straps at the front and a t-strap back at the back, it doesn’t get cooler than this. For the extreme caged look, pair the strappy bralette top with the high waist strappy bottom, how many times can I stay straps? Add a see-through mesh poncho as a cover up if you’re strolling around a resort or going on tourist mode.

Look 3: Go ethnic
All brands are riding the ethnic bandwagon and I couldn’t be happier. I feel like ethnic or geometric prints help to distract the crowd from your problem areas (flabby arms, chubby legs, wide hips… the list goes on) by focusing on the prints and figures. I don’t really know if this is true but a girl can dream right? You can tone it down by combining a printed top with a black solid or vice-versa. The vibrant colors in the prints help to bring some life to an otherwise boring bikini. PilyQ nailed it with its Inca print, vibrant colors with a hint of black and white, a perfect balance. If you’re feeling spendy, get the matching dress that acts as a nice cover-up for your bikini.

Look 4: The Modest Gal
If you’re keeping it low key or a little less flashy, you don’t have to sacrifice your cool. One pieces are hot right now and they help cover up, don’t worry about looking old-fashioned, these picks are nothing but amazing. I have thought about diversity as well: solids, printed, and caged swimsuits. There’s a one-piece for everyone. You have the added bonus of comfort with one-piece, if you feel like showing some skin this one pieces offered low-backs and strappy detailing at the sides. A cover-up is always a good addition to any swimsuit if you’re planning to stroll around and don’t want to do it wearing only your swimsuit. Nice twists on the classic tunic are these amazing wide pants that compliment your swimsuit to perfection.
