Nanette Lepore‘s Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection hit the runway at New York Fashion Week with an explosion of neon colors against a plain, clean-lined runway. The fluorescent colors were bold yet pleasing in shades of yellow, orange and pink. Nanette featured a live band at the base of the runway, also dressed in coordinating bright colors.
Nanette’s spring collection consisted of clean-lined silhouettes and solids, allowing you to appreciate her design aspects. Filled with gathering details at the natural waist line, this new collection will make every woman look slim and feel fabulous. Nanette’s collections are all about the design details. This collection in particular featured geometrical fabric manipulations, crochet and lace. Nanette chose multiple pieces to feature cutouts or twist fabric to show just a hint of skin. The designer’s unique oblong cut-outs make many pieces flattering, including the back of a hot pink dress, a shocking yellow cropped top, and the front neckline of a pink and purple printed tea length dress.
Along with her fluorescent tones, Nanette included some favorite colors that are quickly rising to their own fame. A beautiful bright coral was featured on many designs including dresses, cropped tops, and even a suit. There’s also an influx of fuchsia, we can’t get enough fuchsia this fashion week! The Nanette Lepore Swimwear styles were definitely on “it” list at the show, featuring three suits in coordinating prints with the collection. For these runway showcases Nanette chose a high-waisted bottom paired with a mid-drift tankini and two one piece swimsuits with cut-outs and rouching.
We simply adore the use of floral-printed lace overlays on two dresses, allowing for two bold colors to make an amazing impact together. Nanette also used a floral coral colored crochet to create a dress and a cropped top, both with dainty cap sleeves and scalloped detailing down the center front. Nanette Lepore herself wore a crochet dress with scalloped lines in white fading to a soft yellow color.
After Nanette’s Spring Ready-to-Wear runway show we are crazy about crochet! The crochet dress and cropped top from the runway featured a delicate scalloped detail down the center of the front. Nanette Lepore’s 2012 Swimwear collection includes Chelsea, the entirely crochet collection drenched in striking lilac. This delicate bikini features a triangle top and string bottom in crochet with scalloped detailing.
Also in crochet, Nanette Lepore’s 2012 Swimwear collection features a short-sleeved cover up in azure, black, passionfruit, and white colors. Look familiar? The Crochet Short Dress Cover Up is very similar to Nanette’s finale walk ensemble! This cover up is a fun and flirty dress, perfect for your beach resort vacation.
If you’re looking for something with brighter colors similar to Nanette’s runway, you’ll love the swimwear collection’s Central Park story line. These swimsuits and beach cover ups feature an exotic peacock feather print in bold colors of fuchsia, bright blue, lime, and true grass green. The Central Park Coquette Twist Top and Pin-up Skirt pull design inspirations from Nanette’s spring runway show in both silhouette and color. An amazing feature to the high-waisted bikini is the convertibility of the piece with the ruched fabric, just roll it up or down to adjust the height of you high-waist.
