beach riot

As you all know, the 2015 swimwear season is about to be in full swing and designers across the globe are releasing their highly anticipated collections. We’ve already seen such a huge response to 2015 Agua Bendita and Maaji collections, as expected. But it’s time we focus a bit less on the veterans and a bit more on the newbies. By newbies we mean no disrespect, of course. We’re actually quite thrilled to have a few NEW brands to add to the mix. Some favorites in the California area are heading down to sunny Miami, and we want to be the first to show you why these collections are so effortlessly cool.

Get stoked for Beach Riot Swimwear.

Nicole Hanriot & Beach Riot Swimwear

Nicole Hanriot

Newport Beach Blonde bombshell, Nicole Hanriot,  grew up in the action sports world, interning for Volcom and E! Entertainment before heading to FIDM for production development. Straight out of school, Hanriot got her flirty design direction as assistant designer for L.A. based lounge wear company Primp. Making quite the name for herself as former women’s designer at SoCal lifestyle brand Tavik, it soon came time for this determined designer to branch out. “I’ve always wanted my own line and I’ve always loved the beach and swimwear.” she says.  Though Hanriot comes across as soft-spoken and shy, she’s far from timid when it comes to hopping on the fast track to making her dreams a reality…

Beach Riot Swimwear & Miami Swim Week 2014

We were lucky enough to catch this kickass show when Swim Week tidal-waved all over Miami Beach this past July. It certainly was an event to remember, simply because it was a major introduction to the brand for a few of our staff members. As the lights dimmed and the music cued, it was hard not to bop your head to the beat and feel transported back to days of trapper keepers and collectible erasers. We’re talking early 90’s people. The Beach Riot Swimwear 2015 collection was full of pastels and big block printed letters across their bikinis. Needed to zipper up that pink low cut  Miami one piece? Not a problem, Beach Riot has you covered.

It was very Miami Scarface-esque in the hottest way possible. But if Scarface was actually a chick who rocked the heck out of a high ponytail and glitter-polish.

Another huge trend that we saw at the show was the infamous crop top bikini, which is making a huge comeback in 2015.

Why are crop top bikinis so cool? Well for starters you can pair that bad boy with some cut-off jeans and have the perfect outdoor or festival look. But also you’re getting that ultimate support for your girls while throwing fashion into the mix. Style + Comfort = Genius.
