Spring is in full bloom and so is color this season. This trend began in winter, is picking up speed in spring, and we’re ready for it to be in full bloom all summer long. Color-blocking mixes solids together in, quite simply, a fun way. This trend is popping up in the pages and on the sites of celebrity style hunters as well as on the runways. We’ve spotted celebs such as Katy Perry, Ashley Tisdale, Chelsea Kane, and even a glowing pregnant Jessica Alba flaunting this trend.
Another trend, within this trend, that we’re noticing is the use of fuchsia within color blocking. Usually we see that color blocking utilizes a blouse and slacks or a blouse and skirt with varying colors. This combination, sometimes with a belt in-between, provides a bold look. It is recommended to use saturated colors for this trend, the bolder the better! We love how cheerful this trend is and love the idea of combining two, or three, of our favorite hues.
Feeling inspired and ready to wear this trend along the beach, try pairing a bright solid swimsuit top with a bottom only cover-up, such as a pair of pants, a skirt, or some shorts. It’s easy to combine solids and this trend can vary with some flair. Pair two neutrals for a great relaxed look, or combine some bright neon shades for some fun under the sun. Ready for a night out? Try pairing a bright dress, perhaps something in fuchsia, with some bright colored heels (brilliantly blue hued pumps are also trending this season). Last, but not least, scour through your wardrobe and see what items you’d never think of combining before…they’ll be a great ensemble when mixed via color-blocking. Happy styling!
